The movie starts with Beth taking a cab when she arrives at Croatia. Zain, the Syrian taxi driver befriends and gives her a calling card in case she will need any transportation during her stay. Kate rushes outside and excitedly embraces Beth as soon as she arrives at their place and the two take a look around the luxurious Airbnb place that Kate got for them. Both of them share a toast over how much happy they are now that Croatia trip is actually happening. Beth also got Kate a necklace which she bought online.
In the evening, Kate and Beth eat at a restaurant where Kate had reserved. They discuss about marriage, with Kate’s marriage going through a divorce and Beth’s marriage intimacy not going great. Kate shows her concern and encourages Beth to have a great night and enjoy herself, which probably could help her libido come back especially after giving birth to her daughter, Aster.
Kate wants to pay for their meal using her ex-husband’s credit card but was declined. Beth looks around to find her. She sees Kate upset and arguing with someone over the phone, presumably his ex-husband. When Kate comes back from the call, Beth initiates a halve payment but Kate still insists that she pays for their meal.
After dinner, they go out to a bar with Zain as their taxi driver going there. Kate orders their drink and shares a table with two attractive men, which is against Beth’s will as she is married and uninterested with a one night affair. However, Kate pushes on that Beth should enjoy herself and sleep with someone. Kate later on is seen being suspiciously being drugged by Kate, or one of the two men who gives her a drink.
The next day, Beth wakes up on her bed without being able to recall clearly what happened that night. She looks around their place but is unable to find Kate. After multiple calls and messages but still no reply from Kate, she knocks on the landlord’s door and Sebastian tells her that it was against the rules to party at his place, all the more he will charge them of two persons too for bringing home the two men they met at the bar. Kate was speechless.
Feeling unsettled of what is really happening, Beth reports the missing Kate to the police. Beth struggles with her testimony as she remembers that Kate and her had a fight but did not confess it when investigated. The police man Pavic tells her however, that he can not file a report until Kate is missing 24 hours. As Beth tries to uncover more of the details that happened the night Kate disappeared with the help of Zain.
When Beth returns to the police to report the two men who could have drugged her, Zain asks Beth that he does not want to be intertwined with the police, as they could revoke his visa and get deported back to Syria. Beth agrees but feels uneasy, as Zain could also be a potential suspect on Kate’s disappearance.
The police further investigates Beth, who now has a different testimony after defending herself when witnesses testified that Beth and Kate had a fight, when she said before that she could not remember anything that night. Also, she said that Kate did not do any drugs, when she did. The police finds her more suspicious.
Kate is now found dead by the police, death by drowning. Beth gets a hold of Kate’s phone and manages to unlock and read the text messages hoping to find any clue. She is shaken when she read that Kate and her husband was having an affair behind her back.
The police takes hold of Beth again after knowing facts from the two men as paid escorts and Kate’s affair with Beth’s husband, leading Beth down the lead that she is the biggest suspect of Kate’s murder.
Back in the apartment, Kate sneaks into the landlord’s place when she find him presumably know about something the night Kate died. She sees a video footage of all tenants activities including being naked inside the bathroom and the events the night Kate disappeared. That night, Kate fell asleep after drinks and the two men tried to rob Kate while she was taking a bath. Kate tried to chase after them by riding after a taxi and then comes home riding a police car, banging the door and with an upset attitude.
When the landlord comes back to check on something, Kate struggles to get away and report his doings. She pushes him and accidentally bangs his head on the table but is conscious when Beth leaves the place. The landlord reports Beth of attempted homicide.
The evidence she had is pointing at a taxi driver who potentially know where she had dropped off. Zain and Beth talks to this taxi driver to no avail. The police arrives at the scene, and Beth recognizes Pavic’s police car that Kate also rode on the night she disappeared after reporting the crime. Zain and Beth run as the police chase them. Zain surrenders himself to bid time for Beth to escape but Pavic caught up. Beth confronts Pavic who tried to sleep with Kate but when he was rejected, he killed her. After struggling during this confrontation, Pavic lands to his death after falling off a building.
Kovic, the police woman and Pavic’s colleague, verified everything and Beth is now a free person. She goes back home to her daughter, Aster and husband, Rob. While looking for her spare car key in Rob’s jacket, Beth sees a pendant from Kate’s necklace which was a gift from Beth when they arrived at Croatia.
Kate is overwhelmed to know that it was Rob who murdered Kate. So she goes to the bathroom and calls Kovic but is interrupted when Rob asks her if she is okay. Kate confronts Rob and he tells her everything. Rob went to visit Beth Friday night and went back home Saturday morning. He met with Kate that night to talk things out but got sour when she tries to leave him for good. Kate got hit in the head by Rob, banged on the rocks and fell down the water. He left her there thinking she was dead when she was alive drowning to her death.
Rob tries to stop Kate from calling the police, only to know that the line is connected since the start of their confrontation. Beth kicks Rob in the groin after stopping her and runs away with her daughter Aster as the the police arrives at the house.
