The Casts

The Thirty Nine main casts are three of familiar faces in the Kdrama world. Son Ye-jin who played the role of Yoon Se-Ri in Crash Landing on You, Jeon Mi-Do who played the role of Chae Song-Hwa in Hospital Playlist and Kim Ji-Hyun who played the role of Jang Se-Ran in Hundred Million Stars from the Sky.

Although I have not yet watched the later drama with Kim Ji-Hyun, I can vouch for Son Ye-jin and Jeon Mi-Do’s. Many fans have greatly praised their acting skills with the mentioned roles in their drama. With this expected heartfelt kdrama television series, it would be yet another great show to look forward to.

The Plot

The Thirty Nine plot revolves around the life, friendship, romance and love of three friends who are about to turn 40 years old. If you have watched good heartfelt and emotional kdrama like Hospital Playlist, One Spring Night, Thirty Nine might also resonate the same vibes.

According to MyDramaList, Cha Mi Jo (played be Son Ye-jin) is the head dermatologist of a clinic in Gangnam. She is a warm character who grew up in a wealthy environment with a caring family and everything she could wish for. Jung Chan Young (played by Jeon Mi-Do) dreamed of becoming an actress but ended up becoming an acting teacher instead. Although her way of speaking may seem blunt and harsh, the sincerity in her words makes her a character impossible to hate. Jang Joo Hee (played by Kim Ji-Hyun) is a department store cosmetics manager. Due to her timid personality, she has yet to really experience a romantic relationship.
